Bank of Agriculture Launches Wet Season Input Support for Smallholder Farmers in Katsina. The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) has launched the 2026 wet season input disbursement under the Smallholder Farmer Input Support Program in Katsina State, targeting the cultivation of about 10,000 hectares of farmland through more than 1,000 farmer cooperatives. The programme, implemented in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, is designed to improve smallholder farmers’ access to affordable agricultural inputs while strengthening modern agricultural delivery systems. The BOA said the intervention will be implemented through its agricultural delivery framework in collaboration with the Nigeria Agribusiness Group and Farmer Aggregation Companies. He noted that agriculture remains the backbone of Katsina State’s economy and that supporting farmers with timely access to quality inputs will improve rural livelihoods and increase food production. The latest intervention follows the bank’s nationwide implementation of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value Chain Fund, which began in late June with the distribution of fertilisers, maize seeds and crop protection products to about 500,000 smallholder farmers across more than 20 states.
